steve + peggy
Peggy and Steve's reunion when he returns to the past.
That dance scene. /sobs
Anything about their life afterward.
steve + tony
Conversations about Peggy or Howard, or anything else they'd talk about during their 2-man mission to the past
First time Steve and Tony interact after Tony calls Steve out on how failing together sucks.
Did Steve and Tony ever talk during those 5 years? If so, what did that look like?
[au] Tony survives, but Steve doesn't know that when he goes back in time. So now Steve is really old and Tony is not.
[au] Tony survives and Steve comes back from returning the stones and they rebuild their relationship
steve + natasha
Awful life at Avengers compound before Ant-Man, basically lots of hurt/comfort with each other
[au] When Steve tells Natasha that maybe they should both move on, he asks her out on a date — it becomes a very sad attempt at moving on, but it's also a sad kind of solace.
steve + bucky
Honestly, they barely got any time back together. Steve and Buck MUST have talked before Steve just decided to go back in the past. Possible convo where he admits he's not coming back, and asking Bucky if he wants to return back to their time with him?
steve + anyone
So ... you can so Mjolnir now?
Conversations with various characters when he returns the stones to their rightful place in the past
Someone insisting on going back in time with Steve, and they return all the stones together and this person convinces Steve to come back (or, is convinced that he really doesn't want to)
shuri + anyone
Rebuilding the world from Wakanda
Meeting the other avengers
One-uping our science bros during reconstruction :D
tony stark (AI) + morgan/anyone
I imagine this will be mostly sass.
And with everyone who is not Morgan, this will basically be him joking about how he's going to live forever.
[ The sound of that laugh of his, especially this close to him, fills Tony with such warmth that it mesmerizes him at first. He always knew he liked Steve's laugh, but now... This is a whole new level of like that he hadn't known before. ]
Careful, I'm going to take you up on that. [ Sleeping on him is something that Tony's already hoping he'll be able to do more often. The way he smiles, happy and content, is proof of how much he's loving this. ] I really like being here.
[ At Steve's question, Tony actually considers it before he lets out a quiet chuckle. ] I'd love to stay here, but you gave me quite the workout so food sounds good.
[ If Steve wasn't convinced that it'd be too much to suggest after the first ... was it really ... yeah, the first day of their new relationship, he'd be more than happy to have Tony sleepover every night, and to wake up like this with him every morning. Instead though, he just gives Tony a loving smile.
He actually blushes a little at Tony's workout comment though, and now that it's light again, Tony will be able to see it. Still. ]
I did promise you the best pancakes of your life. [ Steve's arms then both slide back toward Tony's shoulders. ] Okay. Ready? [ He doesn't really say for what, but with a tiny foreshadowing rock to Tony's right, Steve then rolls them both on Tony's left so Steve's on top of him again. He tries, too, to put the least amount of pressure on Tony's body as possible when they move. ]
Alright.
[ He leans down then to give Tony a full kiss, before he extracts himself from the sleeping bag and pulls on his boxers. As he kneels down to unzip the tent flap, he spots his shirt too, and brings that outside with him to pull on. ]
They'll be ready soon. [ He promises, before stepping out. ]
[ That blush of his is adorable, he thinks as he watches him with fondness in his eyes. The last thing he wants to ever do is make Steve uncomfortable, but at the same time he’s curious to see what else will bring that same blush to Steve’s cheeks more often.
The way Steve rolls him over is impressive, and by the time he’s on his back and staring up at him there’s a huge smile on his face. ]
Thanks, love.
[ It’s tempting to pull him in for another kiss right after the one that Steve gives him, but he reminds himself to behave. If he’s hungry, he can’t imagine how hungry Steve must be since he needs more food than him to function.
Once Steve is up, Tony stretches before slipping on his boxers, then his pants, and...oh, right. The shirt was ripped. He grins at the memory, already eager to see what he can get Steve to rip next.
After slipping the sling back on, he steps out of the tent so he can grab his water bottle. He had forgotten it out by the log where he had been sitting, and well, it doesn’t feel right to just lay in the tent while Steve is out here cooking. He doesn’t bother with a shirt, but he hopes Steve doesn’t mind. ]
[ There's just something about hearing Tony call him love that makes Steve grin all the wider. He likes being called that — love — by Tony.
When Tony emerges from the tent, Steve's just finished getting the fire started again and walking back to his pack. Even when Tony has his shirt on, Steve can't seem to look away, so when he sees Tony come out of the tent without one, it's even harder for him to not just stare for a second and blush at the thought of how much of Tony he'd kissed last night.
Tony asks if he can help though and Steve nods, blinking a few times when he looks back down at his pack just to clear his head a little. It's hard to think about Tony and pancakes at the same time. ]
Yes, you caaaaaaan— [ He stretches the word out as he digs for the plastic cups he's brought, before pulling two out along with a plastic spoon. ] Hold one of these for a second.
[ And then comes the batter. It's sealed tight in a small ziplock bag, and Steve dumps some of it into the cup Tony's holding before taking it over. Then, Steve hands Tony a new bottle of water. ] I'm gonna stir. Just pour a steady stream of water in as I do that. Okay?
[ It's pretty easy work and after doing two or three rounds, both plastic cups are filled with pancake batter. ]
If you get cold, you can wear my shirt if you'd like. [ Steve offers, as they carry the cups over to the fire. He sets down his cup on a rock nearby and picks up the skillet they used last night with both his hands. ]
Pour yours in here? Should be good to make at least two.
[ For all of Tony’s new insecurities over his body, Steve is slowly easing him out of that shell. The way he looks at him when he sees him without a shirt makes him breathe easier, even if he hadn’t consciously realized just how nervous he was about exposing himself like this. Steve hasn’t done anything to make him think something entirely different was going to happen, but he can’t help it. Especially when everything is still so new, not only between them, but the changes his body had gone through.
After taking a sip of his water, he walks over to Steve and follows his instructions as he guides him through this process. Now it’s Tony who has to force himself to focus, though, because he can’t help but think that all this is so damn attractive. He had never seen Steve in this element before, and each time he’s finding himself fascinated by what he does or what he teaches him. At this rate, Steve could tell him they should live outdoors and he might agree to it.
He grins at his offer to wear his shirt. ]
Thanks. Right now I think I’m okay, though. The air feels good. But I’ll let you know if that changes.
[ he leans in to kiss his cheek in a thank you, and then pours the batter in the skillet. He hasn’t tasted the pancakes and he can already tell he’s going to love them just because he and Steve are making them. ]
What else do you like to make when you’re camping?
[ From Steve's end, it's really nice that he gets to share something like this with Tony. Back when they were the Avengers, all that he really got to share with his thoughts on attack strategy, combat training — everything and anything related to fighting. This, stuff like camping? It's something else entirely. Plus, he's sure Tony could figure all this out pretty quick. He is a genius after all.
Actually, I'm dating a genius now, Steve thinks, and it makes him have to stifle a chuckle as he looks up at Tony. If he asks though, Steve'll tell him what that was about. ]
Sounds good. [ Steve certainly doesn't mind watching Tony walk around shirtless. Not at all. And the kiss Tony gives him feels sweet, and as the pancakes cook, Steve makes sure to have his spatula ready too, whenever they're ready to flip. ]
Hmm. Sandwiches are always good. With cold cuts maybe. [ He smiles. ] Or, if you aren't going hiking first, there are more options. You can bring a cooler and some campsites have a grill. Beans and baked potatoes though. Pretty classic. Not to mention if we go fishing or something first — then you already know what you're having for dinner. Though— [ He flips the first two pancakes and looks up at Tony. ] I don't actually like fishing all that much.
[ The chuckle makes him rise an eyebrow, a curious smirk on his face. He’s too curious not to ask. ] What’s so funny?
[ He listens, nodding slightly at the list. All those sound good, and Tony has had some exposure to cooking some of those already during the last five years. He doubts they’re any good compared to Steve’s cooking - although he has gotten really good at making grilled cheese sandwiches, but that’s not exactly something to brag about - but he’s willing to cook with him if Steve agrees to it.
At the mention of fish, though, Tony makes a face. ]
I’m okay if we don’t do fish. Wouldn’t that mean that we’d have to, like. gut it and everything?
[ Well, now that Tony's actually gone and asked, Steve's cheeks start to pink up again. ] Uhhh... I was just thinking about how if you wanted to, you could probably pick all of this up pretty fast. Given that, you know, genius, playboy, billionaire, philanthropist. But then I uh— [ Now his cheeks are really starting to get red. ] I thought, well, that means I'm dating a genius now.
[ A beat passes before Steve bashfully asks: ] Is that awful? Maybe that was too embarrassing to say out loud.
[ As for the cooking, Steve's already planning on asking Tony to show him what he's been cooking out here in his cabin for all this time. And grilled cheese happens to be one of his favorite foods.
He laughs though when Tony makes that face. ]
Okay, okay, no fish. I don't like hooking them, and you don't like gutting them. So I think that's pretty settled.
[ The first two pancakes look ready though and Steve asks Tony to hand him a plate from his pack, there should be a couple just on the inside. Then, they get started on the pour and cook of the next two. ]
[ Tony smiles the moment he sees that blush. Not in a way meant to make Steve uncomfortable, just affectionately.
When Steve explains the chuckle, though, now it’s Tony’s turn to laugh softly under his breath. ]
Why is that awful? I don’t think it is. It’s the truth - you are dating a genius.
[ He leans up to kiss his cheek again. ] As much as I could figure it out, though, I much prefer this. And get a chance to share it with you. [ He smirks slightly as he looks at the pancakes before back at Steve. ] Besides, you’re the only person that could have probably gotten me to do this.
[ Steve’s agreement to not do fish makes him actually sigh in relief. ]
Okay, good. I don’t mind eating fish, but the work that goes into prepping it and cooking it... [ He makes a face as he shakes his head. ] No, thank you.
[ Tony follows Steve’s instructions, a smile on his face. ] If these taste as great as they look and smell, I think they have a good chance at winning the title of the best pancakes I’ve ever had.
[ Dating is the important word here, even if Steve has been emphasizing genius instead. Tony's casual confirmation of it though makes his heart feel like it just bloomed. ]
So we are dating then, huh?
[ And that big stupid grin on his face gives away exactly how happy about that Steve is.
Once the pancakes are all cooked, Steve's got forks (but no knives) and a little syrup bottle too. He's reused one of those plastic bear bottles meant to carry honey. ]
Dig in while they're hot.
[ As they eat, they're on the same log as they were last night, but Steve has made sure to sit right up next to Tony this morning, such that every time either of them moves, the other one can feel it. It's...pretty nice. ]
[ Tony can’t quite hide the grin that grows on his face. ]
If you’ll have me, yes. I’d be honored to be dating you, Steve Rogers.
[ Leave ir to Steve to even think about the syrup. Tony can’t help but grin at that detail as well, and god. His man really is perfect, apparently.
As they eat, Tony doesn’t waste any time and also keeps himself pretty damn close to Steve. He loves the proximity almost as much as the pancakes themselves, and when he’s halfway through the first one he can’t help but lean over to plant a kiss on his cheek. ]
This is great, you know. All this. Thank you for such a wonderful trip.
[ Steve grins, you've made him very happy Tony. He's also a little amused at how Tony phrased that though, and Steve thinks it's only fitting that he respond in parallel. ]
I would love to have you, Tony Stark.
[ Something about saying that feels fundamentally good in Steve's heart.
As they eat — and share kisses on the cheek — Steve can't seem to stop smiling, even if he's trying to keep it under control. But Tony's compliment is so sweet, that his smile turns into something much more appreciative. ]
I’ve gotta say, that’s pretty brave of you. But I’m pretty damn lucky that you said yes.
[ Because even now, after everything, he still can’t quite believe Steve is saying yes. That he’d date him. Between his past, and what he considers the burden of his recovery, he can’t quite believe Steve wants him. But he’s so damn glad that he does.
His smile softens, feeling so happy that it feels like his heart might burst. ]
[ Steve leans forward to kiss Tony again then, and for the next few days, the kissing never quite seems to stop.
On the hike back, Steve insists that Tony wear his shirt — for protection — since it'll at least help with any unexpected scrapes or bugs. Steve's own body pretty much ignores those types of things anyway.
Once they do get back, Steve asks if he can use the shower before he goes, and by the time he gets out, Tony's invited him to stay the weekend. He's moved his therapy and they can spend the whole weekend together — if Steve wants. It's touching, honestly, and of course he says yes. He's taking this retirement thing seriously after all, and after the time they had last night, Steve isn't ready to go either. He's also done wasting time.
What he would love however, is for Tony to show him the cabin. He's only seen the porch and one or two rooms, and Steve knows it's a lot larger than that. ]
Give me a tour?
[ He asks, as he pulls on a fresh shirt from his bag. ]
[ Tony ends up accepting the shirt, partly because he knows that he needs to be careful with the skin Helen had worked so damn hard to save after the worst of the burns. Shortly after he slips it on, though, he finds himself enjoying the sensation of wearing Steve's clothes. The shirt is big on him, but he already loves the fact that every breath he takes he catches a whiff of him. It makes him smile every time it happens, no matter what they're doing during the hike back to the cabin.
By the time they are back, maybe it's too bold to assume that maybe Steve would want to spend an extra day with him, but he couldn't help it. It feels like the weekend went by too quickly, even if they spent it having plenty of fun, but...one more day doesn't hurt, right? Tony hasn't felt this happy in such a long time, that somehow letting him go home so soon just didn't feel right. Of course, if Steve would have said he wanted to go home then he wouldn't have protested, but ultimately he's just thankful that he agrees to stay. ]
Yeah, of course. [ Tony had been on the couch while Steve showered, his phone and tablet on the side table. Since the bathroom Steve had used was behind the stairs, Tony had been quick to look over at him once he was out and he stands when he asks for a tour.
Compared to every other place Tony has lived in, especially how massive and modern the compound was, this place is considerably smaller. A bit more rustic, too.
Taking his hand, he leads him to the other living room that had been converted into a mini workstation and small library. ]
I have a 'garage' outside that's not really a garage, it's more where my main workstation is. But this is what I use when I'm in here.
[ A few steps away is the kitchen - nothing too large or overly complicated but it's the perfect size for him, especially considering he doesn't exactly spend a whole lot of room in there anyway. From the window, Steve would be able to see a grill on this side of the porch. A few more steps away from the kitchen, on the other end of the main entrance of the cabin, is a smaller room overlooking the lake; one that seems as the most recently used before his trip, considering the tablets on the day bed, the bottles of medication on the shelf, and the pillows that look obviously soft enough from constant use. ]
There's the main room upstairs, but I got kinda sick of being there after being in bed for so long. So...this room has been where I've set up shop lately.
[ Not to mention that Tony generally doesn't sleep in his own bedroom, anyway, unless someone would drag him out of the lab or he was accompanied by someone. Or, like more recently, unless he was recovering from something. It has been a habit since long before the team was even formed, but Steve might have noticed that pattern while they lived at the tower together, and then on the days that he would crash at the compound. Tony would generally sleep in his lab, or nap on a couch somewhere. Smaller spaces are easier for him to sleep in sometimes, especially when he's alone. And, well, he has been alone for a good majority of the last five years. Happy, Rhodey, and Pepper had been constant visitors at the cabin after the battle, but beyond that he has been here mostly on his own.
On the second floor, there's another bedroom, an extra bathroom, and once they're back downstairs he shows Steve the mini 'apartment' in the basement that Rhodey and Happy had more or less been living in while he needed someone onsite at all times after coming home, and then he walks him over to where the pool is.
As they walk back towards the main part of the house, Tony glances over at Steve. ] So, what'd you think?
[ A side benefit too of Tony accepting the shirt, is that then, Steve isn't wearing one for the rest of their hike back.
The actual tour though leaves a rather impressed look on Steve's face. Despite everything, despite how scaled down this place is compared to Tony's other homes, there are only three places Steve's ever lived that could compare. The first two Tony built himself — the Tower and the compound. Number three is T'Challa's palace in Wakanda. Still, he never seems to be able to get used to how big places can be, how many rooms there are, and Steve finds himself wondering what it would've been like to grow up in a place like this.
When they first enter the smaller room overlooking the lake, the one where Tony's been staying lately, it becomes really clear that the room is one of Steve's favorites. When he takes a moment to look out the window, his fingers trace over the top of those fluffy pillows and he imagines Tony waking up here in the mornings. Steve's not sure he could imagine a more beautiful scene.
The main room upstairs has a similar feel to it, especially because they're higher up, and Steve can't help but notice that there are two lounge chairs in the corner instead of just one. They also take a little break once they get to that part of the tour, mostly because Tony's still wearing his shirt and when they're in the process of leaving the room they both enter the frame at once and get a little stuck. After that though, Steve finds himself just kissing Tony with his back against the doorframe for a couple minutes before either of them are ready to move on.
But nothing blows Steve's expectations more out of the water than the pool. ]
Pretty sure I'm still trying to get over the swimming pool. [ He answers, his hand having never left Tony's this entire time. ] How much do you use it?
[ Steve walking around shirtless definitely is a big benefit. Tony's already making plans of continuing this pattern more often.
Every once in a while as they walk around the house, Tony steals glances at Steve to catch the look on his face. To Tony, this is definitely scaled down than his usual fanfare. At the same time, though, his upbringing makes it hard to be objective considering the mansion he had been raised in, and all the lavish places he had lived in after he was old enough to choose where to live.
If he's honest with himself, even if he had come to this place in the worst of circumstances and had spent five years here that had been hell as he grappled with the guilt and grief of everything that happened, this is probably one of his favorite places. It's secluded and private, something Tony hadn't had a whole lot of before. It's quiet, but he has learned to love it. The serenity of the lake outside of his window, the chilly mornings and evenings, the warm summers. It's a place that has been his in more ways than any other place has been, with messy bookshelves and a house that he has cleaned up and maintained on his own.
That's one reason why, when they start making out, Tony's more than happy to comply. It's nice to share his private corner of the world with Steve, and it feels like it makes the kiss taste sweeter.
At his comment about the pool, he chuckles. ]
Not a whole lot lately. Before the fight happened, I'd do laps, once or twice a day. It'd depend on how I was feeling. You're welcome to use it, whenever you visit.
Any chance I can get you to join me in it sometime? [ And before Tony can say anything, Steve adds: ] Not for laps. Just to be in the water.
[ Given how vulnerable Tony's been with him last night and this morning, Steve wants to share something of his own. But not now. Maybe tonight or tomorrow, and definitely only when they're both in the pool. Water, after all, has become something Steve's sensitive to for many years now, even if he used to love the beach. Or maybe it's more appropriate to say that he loved the idea of going to the beach. ]
Oh. Actually. There is one more thing I'd like to see. [ He smirks a little and leans into to kiss Tony once first. ] Where's your closet?
[ The request actually surprises him, but given how much of him Steve has seen already, it’s much easier to agree to it now than how it would have been otherwise. ]
Yeah, sure. Just let me know when.
[ Tony returns the kiss before smirking at him. ]
My closet? It’s upstairs, in the main bedroom. [ He kisses him again before guiding him upstairs so he can see it. It’s a standard walk-in, his wardrobe consisting of considerably less formal clothes than before. Now there’s more t-shirts in his drawers, jeans, and an assortment of long sleeve shirts, sweaters, and cardigans. He has always been prone to layers, after all, considering how cold his body runs. ] You may be able to squeeze in something if that’s what you’re looking for.
[ With Tony's permission, Steve walks into the closet itself, but he doesn't open any drawers. Instead, he just peruses anything Tony has hanging, and when he gets the offer to put some of his own clothes here, Steve turns back around to Tony. ]
Are you ... giving me permission to leave clothes here?
[ It's not actually what Steve had in mind, but the grin on his face tells Tony that he appreciates what an offer like that can mean sometimes. ]
Yeah. I mean, if you want to. If we’re going to be exploring other trails, and we have ... you know. ‘incidents’ [ he adds with a mischievous smirk ] like last night, it might not hurt to have clothes in here.
No pressure, though. Just ... you know. If you want to.
[ Steve has to clear his throat for a moment after Tony says that, as he pretends like he can't feel the heat rising in his cheeks again. ]
I'd like that. [ It seems like he's never really going to stop smiling this weekend, is he? ] Next time I come over, I'll bring a few things.
[ Why does he get the feeling that sooner rather than later, they might just end up living together? ]
The reason I wanted to see the closet, though— [ He says, as he confirms that at least right away, he can't find what he's looking for. ] Do you remember that plaid shirt you wore, when we were hiding out at Clint's farm? Any chance you've still got it? [ You know, it's just the shirt that Tony was wearing when the two of them were forced to bunk in the same room for the first time. ]
[ There’s a moment that Tony wonders if he went too far in suggesting that, but well. Maybe it’s part of him already wanting Steve to spend more time here. Tony loves his cabin, but it’d be nice to share it with someone he cares about.
When he agrees to it, Tony’s smile widens. ] Good.
[ When Steve mentions the purpose of being here, Tony mouths a ‘ah’ before moving towards where his shirts are. And, sure enough, he pulls the hanger the plaid shirt is hanging from. ]
[ Steve's eyes follow Tony to the hanger, and even before Tony's taken it down Steve can tell it's the one. ]
Brings back a lot of memories, doesn't it?
[ He just looks at it for a moment and then back at Tony. ]
I was kinda hopin' you'd let me take it home. [ There's a bashfulness to the way Steve asks, but he keeps going. ] After all, you look pretty comfortable in my shirt. [ As he says that, Steve tugs gently at the edge of one of the sleeves on the shirt Tony's wearing, straightening it out. ] Only fair that I have one too. For when you're not around.
[ They had roomed together then, but never in a million years would he have thought they’d end up here, now. Especially with how tense things were then. He’s just thankful they’ve gotten to such a good spot now.
At the request, Tony’s features soften and he can’t help but lean in for another kiss. ]
I think that’s fair. If this is the one you want, then you’re welcome to take it. [ He smiles, tilting his head slightly as if curiously. ] Does that mean I get to keep yours?
no subject
Careful, I'm going to take you up on that. [ Sleeping on him is something that Tony's already hoping he'll be able to do more often. The way he smiles, happy and content, is proof of how much he's loving this. ] I really like being here.

no subject
] If these taste as great as they look and smell, I think they have a good chance at winning the title of the best pancakes I’ve ever had.
no subject
So we are dating then, huh?
[ And that big stupid grin on his face gives away exactly how happy about that Steve is.
Once the pancakes are all cooked, Steve's got forks (but no knives) and a little syrup bottle too. He's reused one of those plastic bear bottles meant to carry honey. ]
Dig in while they're hot.
[ As they eat, they're on the same log as they were last night, but Steve has made sure to sit right up next to Tony this morning, such that every time either of them moves, the other one can feel it. It's...pretty nice. ]
no subject
If you’ll have me, yes. I’d be honored to be dating you, Steve Rogers.
[ Leave ir to Steve to even think about the syrup. Tony can’t help but grin at that detail as well, and god. His man really is perfect, apparently.
As they eat, Tony doesn’t waste any time and also keeps himself pretty damn close to Steve. He loves the proximity almost as much as the pancakes themselves, and when he’s halfway through the first one he can’t help but lean over to plant a kiss on his cheek. ]
This is great, you know. All this. Thank you for such a wonderful trip.
no subject
I would love to have you, Tony Stark.
[ Something about saying that feels fundamentally good in Steve's heart.
As they eat — and share kisses on the cheek — Steve can't seem to stop smiling, even if he's trying to keep it under control. But Tony's compliment is so sweet, that his smile turns into something much more appreciative. ]
I'm glad I could do this for you. With you.
no subject
[ Because even now, after everything, he still can’t quite believe Steve is saying yes. That he’d date him. Between his past, and what he considers the burden of his recovery, he can’t quite believe Steve wants him. But he’s so damn glad that he does.
His smile softens, feeling so happy that it feels like his heart might burst. ]
I’m really glad, too.

no subject
] So, what'd you think?
no subject
] How much do you use it?
no subject
You're welcome to use it, whenever you visit.
no subject
[ Given how vulnerable Tony's been with him last night and this morning, Steve wants to share something of his own. But not now. Maybe tonight or tomorrow, and definitely only when they're both in the pool. Water, after all, has become something Steve's sensitive to for many years now, even if he used to love the beach. Or maybe it's more appropriate to say that he loved the idea of going to the beach. ]
Oh. Actually. There is one more thing I'd like to see. [ He smirks a little and leans into to kiss Tony once first. ] Where's your closet?
no subject
] You may be able to squeeze in something if that’s what you’re looking for.
no subject
Are you ... giving me permission to leave clothes here?
[ It's not actually what Steve had in mind, but the grin on his face tells Tony that he appreciates what an offer like that can mean sometimes. ]
no subject
Yeah. I mean, if you want to. If we’re going to be exploring other trails, and we have ... you know. ‘incidents’ [ he adds with a mischievous smirk ] like last night, it might not hurt to have clothes in here.
No pressure, though. Just ... you know. If you want to.
no subject
no subject
When he agrees to it, Tony’s smile widens. ] Good.
[ When Steve mentions the purpose of being here, Tony mouths a ‘ah’ before moving towards where his shirts are. And, sure enough, he pulls the hanger the plaid shirt is hanging from. ]
This one?
no subject
Brings back a lot of memories, doesn't it?
[ He just looks at it for a moment and then back at Tony. ]
I was kinda hopin' you'd let me take it home. [ There's a bashfulness to the way Steve asks, but he keeps going. ] After all, you look pretty comfortable in my shirt. [ As he says that, Steve tugs gently at the edge of one of the sleeves on the shirt Tony's wearing, straightening it out. ] Only fair that I have one too. For when you're not around.
no subject
[ They had roomed together then, but never in a million years would he have thought they’d end up here, now. Especially with how tense things were then. He’s just thankful they’ve gotten to such a good spot now.
At the request, Tony’s features soften and he can’t help but lean in for another kiss. ]
I think that’s fair. If this is the one you want, then you’re welcome to take it. [ He smiles, tilting his head slightly as if curiously. ] Does that mean I get to keep yours?
